In 1988, Maryline Bellieud Vigouroux created the Institut Mode Mediterranée and she presides it. The main vocation of the institute is to be a promotion tool of the regional branch : “fashion, clothing trade”, either by cultural actions or economical actions.

The Institut Mode Mediterranée was one of the main contributor of the reconquest plan of Marseille’s Historical City Center, conceiving and realising on the Canebiere : l’espace mode mediterranée (Mediterraneen Fashion Space), with the help of the State (40%), the conseil général des Bouches du Rhône (20%) which stays owner of the 300m² building, restored by Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
