+ The Marseille urban SPL  

The SPL Fashion Garment has been developing since 1999, particularly through the link between L’ Institut Mode Mediterranée and the textile SPL club. Since September 1st, 2003 it entered in its active phase with its portage by The Chambre Syndicale de l’Habillement and the setting up of a running and activity function.
This SPL depends on a very specific Marseillan situation because in Marseille, the textile garment is a growing sector.

The SPL Fashion Garment of Marseille is a urban SPL that is to say that in spite of economic functions of the network, it is part of the city surface area, it contributes to development of the intra muros economy, it participates whenever it’s possible to significant projects of town planning and it wants to combine the notoriety of its brands Marseille attraction.


The SPL found its development on three principles :

1 - A wish to work in a network : the SPL members SPL and people who support it are convinced that it is here an essential condition for answering the challenge of contemporary economy. This is particularly true for the textile garment at a time of Chinese productions border opening.

2 – Be the link of a line : Marseille SPL is ambitious, and its action in a large whole, extends beyond daily firms border :

  • The Mediterranean fashion (creation, Institut Mode Méditerranée, Cité de la Mode, Euro-Mediterranean project.
  • Links with the famous textile poles (in particular Lyon)
  • Other textile garment SPL in particular the SPL of Grand Delta du Rhône
  • Some SPL working with sectors able to enter in synergy with textile (perfume, electronics).

3 – Build its future around a real ambition : our future builds around two poles, capacity to have a view of average term and the pugnacity of our short term actions.

  • Continuous growth of added value (creation, services, quality, innovation)
  • Our trade efficiency (know to be attractive, how to respond customer expectations)
  • Our logistics performance
  • Enhancing the geographical position and Marseille trade history


The SPL gets concretely structured around some actions

1 – Setting up of a display for the know how and the SPL members firms products

2 – The display of a logistics platform and the finishing, which has for ambition :

  • Enhancing the territory position at the heart of exchange with Euro-Mediterranean sector
  • Creating an activity of industry services which will be in particular a breeding ground for local players (finishing, packaging, style desk, etc).

3 – Setting up a seminar « prospect » which has for calling to bring out some structure actions in the development of average term. Within the framework of operational projects that are emerging around brand marketing and know how thus around innovation.

4 – Deployment of a whole of operational services and tools for whole of profession in enhancing synergies between La Chambre Syndicale de l’Habillement and the SPL (purchase services concerning transport, furniture, setting up a barometer of the sector, etc)
